News Letter and Pictures

Here it is the first edition of the Stingers news letter!

As you will see over the next few months this is a work in progress and we need your help.  Any time you catch a great picture of a shot on goal or even just a great pic of the team having fun and acting crazy, we want to give everyone a chance to share it here in The Buzz.

We want parents, coaches, team managers and anyone interested to be a part of the news letter by contributing

articles, team info, tournament info, colorful play by plays, and of course those awesome pictures.  To submit something for an upcoming newsletter just email Nathan Thomas at nate4kwv@msn.com. As the season progresses we will update the newsletter along with some special additions after tournament play and individual accomplishments.

Thanks in advance for everyone’s help in making this an awesome season!!!!

Stingers History

The Stingers Soccer Club was started in 2002 by Coach Florin Marton with a vision to teach more technical and correct soccer skills and offer a higher level of competition for the local youth. Back in those days we had one U-10 coed team and over the last four years stingers soccer has grown into a club that offers a variety of age brackets and levels of play. This spring, there will be a U-10 co-ed team, a U-12 girl’s team, a U-12 boy’s team, a U-14 girl’s team, and a U-16 girls team. The goal of the Stingers Soccer Club is to continue to build on this history and to develop an organization which truly represents Central West Virginia Soccer.

Excellence In Coaching

The Stingers coaching staff is carefully selected to give your child a rewarding experience while also having fun. By offering the best coaching in Central West Virginia your child will gain a wealth of knowledge and learn valuable soccer and life skills that will stay with them as they grow up.

The Coaching Staff

Florin Marton: Head Coach, Salem International University (WVIAC Mens Champions), 14 years professional experience, Former Romanian National Team Member.

Patrick McGinnis: Assistant Coach, Salem International University

John Reese: Head Coach, Bridgeport High School.

Daniel Carr: Current Starting SIU Player

Upcoming Events

For the next two Saturdays, January 21 and 28, we will be having practice and work outs. Look for emails from your team managers for locations.   The U-10 and U-12 ages are scheduled from 2:00 to 3:30 pm and the U-14 and U-16’s are 3:30 to 5:00 pm.

We are also hosting the Bridgeport Indoor Tournament this year which will be held on February 19, Sunday, from 7:30 am to whenever the championships are held that evening.  Anyone interested in playing in the indoor tournament needs to talk to Mike Young or their team manager as soon as possible.
